Lo Pastisset de Benifallet will start the Terres de l'Ebre mountain races on January 28

Solidarity, respect for the environment and promotion of physical activity. These are the three arguments that clearly consolidate the Cursa del Pastisset as one of the most ingrained tests of the Circuit de les Terres de l'Ebre, a test that was born in 2010 and that this year reaches the ninth adition. It will do so on January 28, starting again the tests of the Ebre calendar. It should be noted that one day before the closing of registrations, the number of 500 participants had already been reached, which can bring together the Benifallet event and at present the organization already has more than 50 people on the waiting list.

28.1 km is the circular route of the Cursa reina del Pastisset, which has a maximum height of 924 meters, the Creu de Santos, in the Sierra de Cardó. With a height difference of 1594 meters, both positive and negative, it passes through places of great beauty. The important points are the Ullal ravine, the Racó de Costumà, the Mas de Monclús, the Senda Oliver, the Creu de Santos and the Balneario de Cardó and the Coll de Motxo. Departure is scheduled for 9 p.m.

The short race, or junior, of 18.1 km, also of circular route, has a maximum height of 729 meters in the Carrasca Dolça, with a positive and negative difference of 960 meters. Departure is at 9.15am. As for the 14.7 km Long March wing, which cannot be scored, it will leave at 9.30 am. The maximum height is 264 meters, in the Racó de Costumà and a comulative difference of 1,146 meters.

Finally, the Short March, which can be scored as a Cadet Race, has 11.9 km of circular route with a maximum height of 260 meters, in Les Cases, and a cumulative gradient of 998 meters.

The race will once again feature the participation of two elite runners, Jessed Hernández, with the Inverse team, and Raquel Martínez, from Tuga Active Wearl. Participants in this race have the following services: cloakroom, massage area, refreshments, free parking, showers and toilets. In addition to the prizes, gifts will also be distributed and sports equipment and local products will be raffled off. The race will end with the traditional popular mixed pot breakfast hosted once again by the Women of Wonders of Benifallet.

THE SOLIDARITY CAKE

One of the distinguishing features of the Benifallet Cake Race is its strong solidarity accent. In 2014, Lo Pastisset Solidari was born. In this ninth edition, the entities involved and with whom the race is committed are the Red Cross, International Solidarity Sport and the Terres de l'Ebre Oncolliga. During the day, clothes and sports equipment will be collected for the Red Cross and dissemination of the International Solidarity Soport project (more than 50 kg per edition). Another action is the consolidation of the local network to help those affected by cancer in the lands of the Ebro (3,000 euros per project). Handmade cancer products will be sold throughout the morning. The organization has also planned for the companions of the athletes participatory workshops and childern's entertainment with inflatables and guided activities. The VII Benifallet Cake Race is organized by the Associació Fent Sendera, with the collaboration of Benifallet City Council and a good number of sponsors, and there are more than 200 volunteers who will make it possible.
